Cenotes

Chichén Itzá

If you are visiting the Archaeological Site, it is not only a great option to visit its Cenote Sagrado (Sacred Cenote) inside the Site but also other cenotes which can be open, semi-open or caves that are on the surroundings.

To have access to some of them, you just need to go some kilometers away the site so you will find Cenote Palomitas where swimming is allowed, close to it there is Cenote Agua Dulce which has a restaurant and souvenirs store outside.

For the most extreme people, there is Cenote Ikki, its deep waters make it ideal to dive and jump. Another option is Cenote Samula, which has been adapted to snorkel or simply enjoy its turquoise waters while floating on the surface.

When visiting each Cenote, it is important to use environmentally friendly sunscreens for allowing next generations to enjoy them.
