Reynosa Historical Museum

Reynosa

An old house built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries is home to Tamaulipas' first municipal historical museum—the Museo Histórico de Reynosa (Reynosa Historical Museum).

As mentioned before, the square’s old bandstand is in its backyard. It was rebuilt with the original iron fittings with the intention of preserving that piece for years so meaningful for Reynosa people.

Inside the museum you’ll be able to see old furniture, such as a century-old wood stove, typical Mexican toys such as yoyos, tops and wooden baleros; historical pieces such as a Mexican Army canteen, utensils for livestock such as spurs and horseshoes and even unimaginable fossils such as a mammoth molar.

You’ll also find weapons such as carbines, rifles, cannons and revolvers, as well as typical charrería clothing, revolutionary era dresses and old machinery today in the museum thanks to donations and private loans.

Entering it is like travelling to the past and watching through a living photograph. The museum is in the city center and you can visit it from Tuesday to Sunday in different hours depending on the day. You can check them either on their social networks or official website.
