The Site Museum is within the Archaeological Site of Comalcalco, in which investigations findings and archaeological excavation that have been carried out over the years are displayed.

The building was made under the architectural design based on the poet Carlos Pellicer ideas and with teacher Amalia Cardós museum script.

Its permanent exhibition room has 16 thematic showcases in which prehispanic Comalcalco history is explained. These are clay-stone-shell-snail-bone-and-metal made pieces and sculptures.

400 archaeological pieces, Mayan-world representatives and found during decades of exploration, conform museum collection.

In one of the rooms the area’s latest discoveries are exhibited as well as the longest Mayan epigraphic text found in Tabasco—8th century Mayan glyphs inscribed on the tiny surface of a stingray-tailed stinger.
