Ciudad Obregón

Among the cultural enclosures that Ciudad Obregón offers, you will find the Sonora Revolution Museum. It is located in the house of the son of Alvaro Obregon and the guides are dressed in period costumes to make the tours more interesting. Inside the old rooms you will see personal use products like uniforms, photographs, weapons and even a phonograph.

One of the halls of the museum is dedicated to mining since it is known that one of the reasons for the Revolution to unleash was the inhuman conditions in which the workers of this industry has to work. You can also walk through its botanical garden.

The Cultural Center Modelo Antonino Fernández is a key piece to the cultural life of Ciudad Obregón since it displays the historic evolution of Sonora, from the settlements of the Yaquis to its uprturn with the farm industry and the beer industry that came here with Grupo Modelo in 1960.

This place also works as a exhibition center for contemporary art, sculpture and photography. It is located in the 15 kilometer of the Carretera Internacional.

Last, but not least, the Gallery of Art ITSON opened its doors thanks to the work of the Mexican painter Héctor Martínez Arteche. He has dedicated his efforts to promote art in Sonora. This enclosure is a place that allows young artists to present their work to an audience. There’s always something new to see here.
