The remains from the old Prehispanic center El Cuisillo are kept in the Indigenous Community Museum Nt’okwä in the locality of San Ildefonso Tultepec, just 20 minutes from Amealco.

This place works a “Memory house” that keeps alive the history of the first otomi settlement in the region. You can explore more about this by learning about its pottery, metals, molcajetes, arrows and obsidian knives. There are some remains from the painting of the first chapels.

The museum is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 16:00 pm. You can book a special visit for coming during the weekends. Finally, take a moment to visit the ruins of its temple built in the XVIII century. This was a very special temple for the Otomi community. Each January first they come here to celebrate New year.
