History and art enclosure
If you want to explore and learn about the history of the majestic Magical Town of Tetela de Ocampo, the “Museo de Los Tres Juanes” has everything for you to soak up it.
This beautiful museum has recently opened and shows us a great variety of objects that are important and transcended the magnificent history of Mexico.
The enclosure offers us various modules where it teaches us the historical evolution of the place, from pre-Hispanic times to the war of the second French intervention. It also presents the participation of the so-called Tres Juanes who are: N. Méndez, C. Bonilla and Francisco Lucas, the three outstanding and courageous liberal leaders who were also part of the heroic battle of Puebla on May 5.
By attending this museum you will find many pieces that are part of the historical participation of this country, such as original flags that were used in the battle of Puebla in 1862, sabers of the time, cannons, ammunition, documents of the battle, as well as photographs and bullets that were found in the town dating from the time of the Mexican Revolution.
There is a very important area where various objects evoke the mining past of the town, specifically the community ‘’ La Cañada ’’, which in past years was one of the main suppliers of gold and silver.
The museum is open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to 14:00. It is located right in the center of the city; therefore it is not at all difficult to know where to find it.
No doubt, it is a place where we can appreciate the origins of this wonderful Magical Town.
