Recreational Parks

Capulálpam de Méndez

For a dose of adrenaline, Capulálpam de Méndez has two recreational parks with adventure activities 10 minutes away from the downtown area.

The first one is Los Molinos, everything starts with a bicycle ride to get to the first platform that makes up the six zip line circuit. You don't have to hesitate to get on the cable and fly 40 meters (131 feet) above the treetops.

You cross hanging bridges and end with a 60 meter (197 feet) rappel in natural rock. In the hot season, you can swim in the spring water streams. There are also horse rides and 12 climbing routes.

The second recreational park is Los Sabinos, a place to breathe in the aroma of fresh earth, see the tall, thick trunks of junipers and walk among trails lined with ferns, orchids, and mushrooms.

Bicycles can be rented to go up to el Calvario, the main viewpoint of the town. Further down, two spring creeks intersect, the spot is known as “Y” and is inhabited by several species of birds, including the woodpecker. It is also a camping area.

In both parks, you can rent cabins with fireplaces and night tours to contemplate the stars with atole de pinole in your hands.
