El Cora Crocodiles Sanctuary “El Cora”

Bucerías

One of the most majestic things about this town is, without a doubt, its flora and fauna. This sanctuary is right next to the Flamingos Golf Club and is a space that brings visitors closer to these fearsome but amazing animals.

Located in the mangrove Estero El Quelele, this natural space is dedicated to the protection and conservation of the species of this area; it also organizes environmental education and ecotourism workshops.

The best way to get into the mysteries of this ecosystem is to join one of the tours that leave every 20 minutes and last approximately an hour and a half to two.

Get ready to go through the mangrove guided by expert biologists and veterinarians who will explain more about the large lizards that inhabit it and how they are dedicated to protecting them, as well as endemic species that coexist with them. If you're brave enough, get involved with the crocodiles and, if you're lucky enough, you'll be able to feed them!

Also admire other species such as: birds (parrots, macaws, eagles, geese) or badgers, turtles and coatis.

It is advisable to take comfortable clothes, because you will be walking a lot under the hot and humid climate of this type of ecosystem. If it's time for lunch, don't worry, there is a restaurant in the crocodile farm.
