Mazatlán, San Blas, Tepic, El Rosario

Start this route indulging yourself in the beautiful beaches of Mazatlán. Enjoy the modernity of its wide tourist variety and visit its Historic Center where you can admire its architectural beauty. If you want to experience the atmosphere of its famous Carnival, you must travel between the months of February and March, since it takes place before Ash Wednesday.

Continue to the Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) of El Rosario. It is impossible to walk through the Historic Center and not fall in love with the beautiful contrast of the exuberant vegetation and the ancient quarry stone. Get to know the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Nuestra Señora del Rosario Parish), the museums of the Totorame Culture and the House of Lola Beltrán. You can take back home as souvenirs some baskets or petates made with artisan techniques from the Totorames, Xiximes and Acaxees people.

The next destination will be San Blas in the Riviera Nayarit. This colonial port has historical attractions to visit, such as La Contaduría Fort. Enjoy its beaches, take a stroll along the pier and enjoy its wide variety of water activities. Savor the seafood and fresh fish dishes, and for dessert you must try the traditional banana bread.

The route ends in Tepic. Tour this beautiful city and discover its colonial past at the Juan Escutia and Casa de Amado Nervo museums. Visit the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción (Immaculate Conception Cathedral) and take home as souvenirs some colorful Huichol handicrafts that you can buy at the Main Square.
