Acapulco, Chilpancingo

This route that will take you to the sea, it begins in Chilpancingo, Guerrero. In this city full of history you must visit the Museo Regional de Guerrero (Guerrero Regional Museum). We also recommend you to visit the Catedral de Santa María de la Asunción (Santa María de la Asunción Cathedral), neoclassical in style and very much visited by locals and foreigners, since it is the most important church in the area. If you like speleology, you will particularly love the Juxtlahuaca and Cacahuamilpa Grottoes.

Now take the course towards the Pacific, specifically towards the famous port of Acapulco. Here you can find all kinds of accommodation to spend some wonderful days at the beach and in the sun. There are many activities to enjoy, from diving, skiing or fishing, to playing golf and tennis. Admire the spectacle of the Quebrada -a symbol of this destination- and the sunsets from the Malecón (Boardwalk). At night the entertainment variety is endless.

To continue enjoying the benefits of the sea, you will now head to Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo. This destination has a whole tourist infrastructure of hotels and marinas, but at the same time it has a very welcoming atmosphere. The beach here has golden sand, and if you want a place to swim or snorkel, Las Gatas is perfect because it is quiet and there are no waves. One of the most attractive water activities is sport fishing, in fact it is home to important competitions, such as the sailfishing tournament. In the late afternoon, visit the downtown area with its beautiful cobbled streets, it is perfect for dining, drinks and listening to live music.
