Adventure Route through the Desert and the Beach

El Salto, Mazatlán, Durango

The starting point of this interesting route will be Durango, an important scene of the Mexican Revolution that has also been recognized as a mining center since the 19th century. A walk through the Plaza de Armas will take you to learn more about its history through its museums and architectural beauty. Among its attractions is also the Panteón Civil (Civil Pantheon) with its Museo de Arte Funerario (Museum of Funerary Art).

Next you will visit El Tecuán National Park. Located in the Sierra Occidental in the middle of the forest, it is the perfect place to enjoy activities such as mountain biking, fishing and hiking. Here it is usual to see elk deer walking through the park.

Then continue the route to El Salto. This small town in the Sierra Madre Occidental offers incredible views and is surrounded by natural beauties where you can do mountaineering, rappelling and even zip lining.

Now continue to Villa Unión, perfect for stretching your legs and walking through the square; this little town was the first to be identified with the name of Mazatlán. Later it changed to Villa Unión and Mazatlán was assigned to the port.

The Pearl of the Pacific, as Mazatlán is also known, is the ideal conclusion to relax on its beaches and enjoy delicious seafood dishes, accompanied by a cold beer. Afternoons are special for walking along its boardwalk.
