Fun and entertainment are just ten minutes from Oaxtepec. It is Tlayacapan, also known for its Nahuatl root as the nose of the earth, due to a glyph or hieroglyph representing it and indicating the boundary, that is, the hill, which in the rainy season becomes a silky carpet due to the bursting vegetation.

START YOUR TOUR WITH YOUR CAMERA AT HAND

Know the colonial architecture of its downtown which has colonial buildings like the old San Juan Convent dating from the 16th century. Inside of it, the museum is located where you will have a glimpse of the Beyond, as some mummies are exhibited.

HAVE AN ENCOUNTER WITH THE PAST

Go to the Former Hacienda of San Nicolas which, according to legend, belonged to Hernán Cortés and who inherited to his grandson Pedro in the 16th century. Its thick columns and high arches are perfect for a photographic series with a background of high and robust magueyes. Take advantage of the daylight and return to the village where you will be surprised by the delicate clay pottery sold, and you will have to decide whether bringing flowerpots, pots, dishes, jugs or comales.

BE DELIGHTED BY A GOOD TYPICAL FOOD

Try a good plate of pipian green mole with ash tamales, charales, and white beans, which is part of the typical food of the place. You can also taste the red mole with tamales and cooked beans, turkey mole or the broad bean or bean tlacoyos
