Visit the Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) of Candela
The Cartujanos Plateau is also known simply as Cartujanos.
Walk the path uphill on an old stone road built in the mid-Nineteenth Century, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the spectacular landscapes of Cartujanos to amaze you.
Find one of the most majestic views of the site, located at La Tinaja. Explore the old hacienda with its Irish-style architecture. The house, chapel and fort are well preserved, so you can appreciate every detail. You can also visit the crypt with the remains of Governor Santiago Vidaurri.
Finally, transport yourself to the time of the Cartujanos as you visit El Alamito fort, built to guard and protect the Plateau. Admire the colorful cave paintings on its walls that witnessed past guerrilla battles, as evidenced by the multiple bullet impacts along the walls.
