El Parián

Tlaquepaque

After walking through the center of Tlaquepaque and filling your arms with bags loaded with crafts, it is mandatory to take a break at El Parián (Juárez 68), one of the most emblematic sites of this Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town).

The roofed village with a kiosk included is ideal to enjoy live mariachi music, the folkloric ballet show and, of course, the gastronomy and drinks of its 19 restaurants-canteens that open from 10:00 a.m.

You have to sit down in one of its gardens and enjoy a “cazuela voladora”, the typical drink of Tlaquepaque made with citrus slices, tequila and grapefruit soda. Everything is mixed inside a clay pot made in the town's artisan workshops.

At night, El Parián is illuminated with lamps in the shape of a honeycomb and is transformed into a great open-air karaoke entertained by mariachis and the occasional drum. The party culminates at midnight.
