Hacienda Sepúlveda is a reminder of Lagos de Moreno’s colonial past; all 423 acres (171 hectares) originally belonged to Don Juan de Sepúlveda, who worked in cattle ranching and agriculture.
During the Mexican Revolution, the hacienda was taken by Pancho Villa, as it’s located on the road to Zacatecas. Nowadays it is a hotel, where you can reside for a few days, and even discover the secret escape route which leads from the main bedroom.
Besides you can enjoy a break from the everyday routine, you will be able to practice a number of different activities. Take a cycling or horseback tour around the old quarters of the hacienda, or if you prefer, enjoy the pleasant climate of Lagos de Moreno in the pool or outdoor jacuzzis.
To explore the surrounding area, the hacienda offers hiking trails, and a maze for the little ones to enjoy. At night, you can have bonfires or moonlit gatherings, and observe the celestial vault from this historic building.
