Yuriria

To speak of Yuriria as a Pueblo Mágico for religious tourism implies including several this kind buildings. Start visiting the Templo de la Preciosa Sangre de Cristo (Temple of the Precious Blood of Christ), where a 17th century black Christ, brought from Torrijos Spanish city, is venerated.

It is on Miguel Hidalgo St, between Marinero and Guanajuato. Its history dates back to 1884, when Fray Blas Enciso began the construction. When he died, years later, the works were unfinished until Fray Rafael Villafuerte finished them without towers nor decorations. It was inaugurated as far as 1901 by Fray Fulgencio Villagómez Ruiz.

Another unmissable visit is to the Templo del Hospital (Temple of the Hospital) at 4 Francisco Ortiz St. This sober temple was originally built to serve the natives, as they were given accommodation to care for injured persons and patients with different diseases. Its austere facade has a single two-level bell tower. Inside, the quarry pulpit stands out.
