Walking is one of the best ways to get to know a city. In León you can do it through the Pedestrian Route, a specially equipped corridor for walking that will allow you to explore many of its attractions.
The Pedestrian Route goes from the Polyform León to the Plaza del Mariachi. Reserve in your itinerary one full-day exclusively for this walk. Make a stop at the Guanajuato Cultural Forum, where you’ll find the Museo de Arte e Historia de Guanajuato (Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato), the Central Library and the Jardín de las Esculturas (Garden of Sculptures).
In the Calzada de los Héroes direction you’ll see the popular Puente del Amor (Bridge of Love) where—as in Europe—people leave padlocks with their own and their partner’s initials. The path will take you to the Templo Expiatorio, worth admiring day or night. If lucky, you’ll be able to watch some artistic show (usually take place in its square) or even a video mapping projection on its facade.
