Centro Ecoturístico Mexiquillo (Mexiquillo Ecotourist Center)

El Salto

50 kilometers ( 31 miles ) away from El Salto, on the Durango-Mazatlán highway, you will find a paradisiacal enclave of dreamlike landscapes and so many pine trees that you will think you are going to get lost inside.

Don't worry, you are about to enter a real lung of nature and we assure you that every cell in your body will be grateful for this small dose of oxygen.

The sounds that converge here, go from the howling of the deer, to the ruining of the wild boars that hide in the distance without interfering and asking you not to interfere with them. Go on your way, enjoy the existence of every stone and every herb of the path that leads you to your next stop.

There is no better way to triumphantly enter the reserve than through its tunnels created more than 100 years ago for the train that never materialized and today are part of the main artery that leads to the deepest corners of this coniferous forest.

Walking them is not an option, instead there are ATVs with which you can approach and considerably reduce your travel time.
