Manzanillo

In Santiago and Manzanillo, the twin bays where the city lies, you can find a great array of beaches for having a great time during the holidays. In Santiago bay you can find the hotel zone whereas in Manzanillo you’ll find the core of the city. However, on both beaches you can relax and get tanned comfortably.

La Boquita y Santiago are two cherished beaches. Santiago bay is mostly visited by families with kids, this because of its calm waters. Audiencia beach, shaped as a half moon, offers the possibility of practising snorkel, besides swimming. If you prefer adventures, you can go to Miramar beach for surfing. You can rent equipment for practising different activities. Also, you can ride a horse through the coast for a change.

If you are seeking something less popular, you can rent a car and go to El Oro beach (The Gold Beach). It is said that some time ago a ship sank deep in the sea and its precious gold shipload was lost forever.

If you are in Manzanillo bay, you will find that families prefer Playa azul. San Pedrito is the nearest one to the city. Last but not least, Las Hadas beach is by far the more famous. It is called that way (The Fairies Beach) due to the soft trail the seafoam leaves in the sand. Bear in mind that this beach is exclusively for the guests staying in the VIP hotel of the same name.
