Barrancas del Cobre

Definitely, Barrancas del Cobre is one of the places where adrenaline is never left behind. Board El Chepe train and choose to get off at Posadas Barrancas stop, five minutes away from it, you will find “Parque de Aventuras de Barrancas del Cobre” where you can do zip-lining, rappelling and challenge unimaginable heights by Via Ferrata.

Begin your journey overcoming vertigo by throwing yourself off one of the longest zip-lines in the world at 2.5 kilometers long, and reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour. If you want even more, the park has seven zip-lining circuits and two hanging bridges. So prepare to overcome your fears! Your reward when you finish will be a panoramic and imposing natural scenery.

Before you return to the beginning of the circuit, you will have one more chance to take another picture, when you take a cable car that crosses the canyons. If you are looking to really get your heart pumping, you should join the Via Ferrata. Start this adventure descending 157 feet by rappeling and then continue your journey through a cavern while jumping to the other end on a Tarzan-style pendulum.

As you leave the park, you will have the opportunity to spend some time with the Rarámuris, because the park offers some route options to go hiking with them. The trails can be done by foot or with a mountain bike, ranging from all levels, from beginners to the more advanced moutain biker.

If all this excitement wets your appetite, the park also has a restaurant with terraces to keep falling in love with the views, and it also has a crystal floor to continue challenging your vertigo.
