Casa de Cultura

Tapachula

In Parque Hidalgo there is a building that causes curiosity for its surprising beauty, it is the Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture) that, at the beginning of the 20th century, worked as El Palacio Municipal de Tapachula (Municipal Palace of Tapachula).

It is a majestic building that conserves the splendor and details of its art deco architecture, this one conserves its beauty outside and inside so you can find its original lamps when crossing its doors.

One of its treasures is a French clock -one of seven pieces- that President Porfirio Díaz gave to different cities and, the one in Tapachula, is the only one that is kept in perfect condition with its original pieces.
