Former convent of Saint Domingo de Guzmán

Chiapa de Corzo

Santa Teresita is not the name of the patron saint of the ex-convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán in Chiapa de Corzo, but the affectionately given name of one of the largest bells in the whole country.

To get to know it you just have to take a guided tour to the belfry. After greeting Santa Teresita, go down again and carefully observe the interior of the convent, filled with sacred art, and built in Gothic, Renaissance and Neoclassical styles.

Don't forget to take a tour of the annexed Dominican ex-convent. To reach the Exconvento de Santo Domingo de Guzmán you must go to the “Plaza de Armas” and go straight down Mexicanidad Chiapaneca Avenue.
