Querétaro is a state known for bringing together history and nature in one place, it has endless attractions perfect for discovering your adventurous side in nature and learning more about the Magical Towns such as Bernal.

Let the adventure begin

In the Sierra Gorda de Querétaro, there is a natural attraction that everyone describes as magical and without equal, the Puente de Dios, located on federal highway 120, San Juan del Río-Xilitla.

What can we do in Puente de Dios?

You need to go into nature to get there, so you can better appreciate the enormous vegetation and landscapes that will take your breath away. We recommend you visit this natural attraction in the months of November to June, the weather favors the visit then.

At the beginning of our journey, and after covering a large part of the way, you will find the Escanela River, a stop before you reach the Puente de Dios. The Escanela River gives us green and blue tones, with fresh water to be able to enjoy as we arrive at our final destination.

Continuing with our journey, the next stop is the Cañón de la Angostura, the Escanela River crosses the Canyon, which has a length of 50 meters (164 feet), and you will be able to visit several pools full of water with a bluish tone, ideal for swimming.

During the tour of the canyon, you will be able to hear the song of several birds that live in the surroundings, many describe this experience as magical, and it is perfect to connect with nature and relax.

30 minutes away from Cañón de la Angostura you will reach your destination, Puente de Dios, the entrance is through a wall of rocks, once you cross them, some pools of crystalline waters will welcome you.

For thousands of years, the water has been sculpting what we now know as the Puente de Dios, superficial currents filter through the grotto, creating authentic natural showers of crystalline water, which is expelled by stalactites.

The entire environment of Puente de Dios is a true natural spectacle that the Sierra Gorda offers us, you will enjoy the green of the vegetation and even find endemic species of the region such as the macaw, jaguar and axolotls.

Mexico undoubtedly has destinations and attractions that will take your breath away, so we invite you to visit Querétaro on your next vacation and continue discovering more of Mexico in our next blogs.
