Mission of Our Lady of del Pilar of All Saints

Todos Santos

Misión de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Todos Santos (Mission of Our Lady of del Pilar of All Saints), is a small chapel that was formerly visited - on occasion - by missionaries. Its history goes back to 1733 when the missionary priest Segismundo Taraval founded it giving it its first name: “Visita”.

As the years went by, the enclosure had different names. The chapel received its present name thanks to the contribution of Rosa de la Peña, cousin of the Marqués of Villapuente, who managed to have it given the category of mission.

Inside, an architectural complex made up by the old church and a modern construction can be seen. The walls of the church are smooth and the ceiling of the nave is a slab with a layer of lime. It has a wooden spiral staircase to go up to the choir.

On the side walls of the nave there are some niches at the top that end in an inverted shell shape.
