La Paz

The underwater world of La Paz is waiting to be explored. Put on your fins and mask because you are about to embark on an adventure on the reefs of the Sea de Cortés.

If you are not yet an expert in diving, do not be discouraged as there are three reefs where you can practice to develop your skills. We are talking about the Suwanee reef, El Bajito and Isla Ballena.

In the Suwanee reef you can dive up to 4 meters (13 feet) to observe many colorful species and witness the biodiversity that inhabits the region. This is one of the favorite places for underwater photographers thanks to the clarity of the sea.

Meanwhile, El Bajito is a rocky reef found at a depth of 12 meters (39 feet) and is a favorite among beginner divers. Here you can also see sea turtles and manta rays.

Isla Ballena, six meters (19 feet) deep, is ideal to see underwater caves, a refuge for species such as lobsters.

Expert divers can dive into El Bajo or Punta Lobos to see hammerhead sharks and yellowfin tuna.

At La Paz, it is also possible to explore artificial reefs such as El Ferry Pecio Salvatierra, sunk in 1975.
