La Paz

One of the typical meeting points of the people who lives in La Paz is the Jardín Velassco (Velasco Garden), where you can take a break sitting on its benches under the shade of the trees. Here is the fountain known as Hongo de Balandra.

The missionaries also had their presence in this city, so in the Historical Center you will find the Catedral de Nuestra Señora de La Paz (Cathedral of Our Lady of La Paz) that was built by orders of the jesuits Juan de Ugarte and Jaime Bravo in 1720 to house the Misión de Nuestra Señora de la Paz Arirapí (Mission of Our Lady of la Paz Arirapí).

Take a tour to the Museo de la Ballena (Whale Museum) where you can learn more about the different species that visit La Paz from December to March. Of course, if you travel during the whale watching season, you will get to know all about these mammals when you see them with your own eyes.
