Regional Museum of History
In the heart of Valladolid, there is an impressive cavern of a little over forty-five meters in diameter. Inside the cave is one of the most impressive, and best located, cenotes of the Yucatan peninsula: the Zaci Cenote.
ADVENTURE INTO INNER EARTH
Walk under the sun to the cenote and enter the refreshing tunnel that will seem to transport you to another dimension where ancient civilizations still have their natural sanctuary. Admire the transparent mirror of water. Go down the rock-cut staircase surrounding the cenote. Observe the formations of stalactites and stalagmites hanging from the rough and magical roof giving shadow to the environment.
Appreciate the extraordinary ecosystem in which different species of tropical plants, fish, and birds have made their home. Take a dip in the cool waters and feel part of the Mayan nobility surrounding the cenote.
ENJOY DELICACIES IN THE CAVE
Delight yourself with Yucatan food in a restaurant that expands under the shade of the cave. Savor a cochinita pibil, salbutes and papadzules accompanied by a sauce of habanero and xtabentun to encourage your spirit.
