Meet the Malintzín Volcano

Visit a park of 110 acres that extends to the slopes of the Matlalcueyetl volcano, which is also known as La Malinche or The Lady of the Blue Skirts, a sacred volcano to the ancient Tlaxcaltecas.


Enjoy beautiful gorges, scenic landscapes and pine-oak forests, which is home to a variety of birds and animals such as hares, rabbits and armadillos, as well as some other threatened species such as quail, badgers and lynxes. 


CLIMB THE HEIGHTS
Travel all the way from the base to the fifth-highest summit in the country. Feel the thin air enter your lungs at almost 15,000 feet above sea level. On your way, you may run into famous athletes who are seeking to improve their performance and climbers who come to acclimate before climbing the highest volcanoes in the region.


ENJOY A WALK
Enjoy a nice walk along various trails that have signs leading the way. You can even reach the top without a guide, but be sure to go early enough and allow time to make it back to the beginning before nightfall.
