Meet the sacred spaces of Valle de Bravo
In the southern part of the state, you will find Xochitecatl, one of the oldest settlements in the valley of Puebla. Its monuments and archaeological pieces are exemplary samples of mountain and fertility worship, both characteristic features of Mesoamerican religions.
CONQUER THE PYRAMIDS OF XOCHITECATL
Among its buildings, you will find the Pyramid of Flowers, considered to be the fourth largest structure in Mesoamerica, the Pyramid of the Serpent, with its monolithic stone basin and the Pyramid of the Spiral, with its circular floor dedicated to the wind god. You can also visit the El Sitio museum, where you will discover the place's significance.
EXPLORE THE PLACE OF THE LINEAGE OF FLOWERS
Walk this archaeological area, whose name means the Place of the Lineage of Flowers. It was erected on top of a hill where you can see the different areas of land that were likely used for rooms and/or cultivation. You will also have an excellent panoramic view of the volcanoes.
Visit what was considered the most important ceremonial center by the local people. It sheltered its inhabitants for approximately 9 centuries until it had to be abandoned due to the eruption of Popocatepetl Volcano in the first century of the Christian Age.
