The Viceroyalty Museum occupies what was once the Jesuit College. Today it houses the most important collection of works of art from the 17th and 18th centuries.

TOUR BY THE TEMPLE OF SAN FRANCISCO JAVIER

Your walk continues to the great Plaza Hidalgo where you can stop in front of the huge carved stone cross of the Church of San Francisco Javier; look how its façade stretches to touch the sky. Look at the beautiful decoration of flowers and leaves extending to the interior. Let its twelve altarpieces tell you what Mexico was like 300 years ago.
