Meet the sacred spaces of Valle de Bravo
Start in the town square and head toward the Ixtlahuaca neighborhood’s Iglesia del Honguito, as the locals call it. Admire this small white church that houses a tiny petrified mushroom, discovered by a peasant in 1880.
The small mushroom is embedded in a crucifix covered with a crystal. The surface of its bark depicts the various religious images that believers have discovered.
Finally, attend the patron-saint festival held on May 3, featuring dances, masses and exhibitions of religious objects and crafts.
