The La Soledad Dam is a magnificent work of Mexican engineering and a source of national pride.

Pass through thick forest groves and areas of dense fog and reach as far as the impetuous river waters become calm. Stop in front of the immense work built in the canyon of the Apulco River with the main objective of driving the waters of the Xiocayucan River to the Soledad River since 1962. Be amazed by the hydroelectric power capable of generating 220 megawatts of electrical energy. Reach the viewpoint where you can see the huge floodgates and admire the dome-shaped steel curtain, the first to be built across the continent. To relax mind and body, take a boat ride where you can spend a great day.
