Once you reach the downtown area of Puebla, you will understand the historical and artistic relevance of the City of Angels. According to local legend, the city is guarded by angels from the bell tower of the cathedral. From any corner of the city, you can see one of the five volcanoes that have been guardians of their treasures since pre-Columbian times: Popocatépetl, Iztlaccíhuatl, Malintzin, Cuexcomate and Chitlatépetl.

It took more than two centuries to be built and is filled with artistic jewels. It is protected by the tallest towers in the American colonies of its time. Be amazed gaze upon the dome, which was painted by Cristóbal de Villalpando in 1688.
