Walk Tlalpujahua, the land of tezontle
Matacanes is a canyon nestled within the mountains of Cumbres de Monterrey National Park, considered one of the most spectacular sites in the state of Nuevo Leon, if not the whole country. The park got its name from the porous rock formations known as matacanes. A day trip consisting of crystal clear ponds and opportunities to rappel awaits you.
Equipped with a helmet, safety harness and lifejacket, walk along a small path to enter the mouth of the canyon and feel a tingle in your belly.
Feel how your breathing accelerates when rappelling down alongside a waterfall and enjoy the water falling on your body as a greeting from the canyon.
A huge turquoise-colored pool receives you to begin a series of jumps through the river from different heights.
Have fun when sliding through the natural slides that will make you scream of pure adrenaline. The river continues with its course and you will flow relentlessly with it. Jump into a dark cave to feel the summit of emotion when reaching the bottom. Listen to the echo of your voice inside the cavern while swimming towards the light.
Finish your day with the dawn and a huge smile after living this great experience.
