DISCOVER THE VESTIGES OF THE OLD CONQUERORS
In front of the old convent of San Juan Bautista, dating from the 16th century, you can perceive the solid construction and tenacity of the builders. Admire the thick, high walls and massive stone arches of this colossal Augustinian building. Look for the niches of the five bells pointing at the sky.
VISIT THE ON-SITE MUSEUM
It is located inside the convent. Imagine the shiver felt by those who, below the main altar, found 39 graves of mummified children.
KNOW THE SPIRITUAL DEVOTION
Decipher in the murals the monks study and the baroque details of their frescoes. Explore the vaults with vegetal and geometric motifs, as well as their gothic rosettes. At the end of the tour, head to the cloister garden where the Augustinian monks chatted informally outside the routine of the monastery.
When leaving the convent, enjoy an ice cream or some fermented beverage, and restart your convent route in search of enriching experiences.
