Meet the sacred spaces of Valle de Bravo
VISIT THE LAKE OF ZIRAHUEN
After visiting Santa Clara del Cobre, take some time to visit the Lake of Zirahuen, known as the mirror of the gods. It is one of the best kept secrets of Michoacán.
TRY A CORUNDA
Choose from among the many food stalls located on the nearby dock. Make sure to try delicacies such as the charales (a small fish) and corundas (a food similar to a traditional tamal), order them with some cream or jocoque (sour cream), or accompanied by a local stew or traditional hot beans. Much of the food is inspired by the Purepechas Indians.
LISTEN TO THE LEGENDS FROM THE LOCALS THEMSELVES
Ask one of the villagers or local guides to tell you the legend of Lake Zirahuen and the story of Erendira's tears. The story says that Erendira, overwhelmed by life, threw herself into the lake and became a mermaid.
VISIT THE ZIRAHUEN FOREST & RESORT
Go fishing, take a kayak tour, go on a zip line, walk through the forest canopy on a suspended bridge or go horseback riding or go mountain biking. There is plenty to do for adventure- and adrenaline-seeking visitors.
