Meet the Malintzín Volcano
When arriving at Torreon you can see rising on top of the Las Noas Hill an imposing figure standing out from any other construction of the city. When you approach, you will see The Christ of the Noas, guardian of the city.
MEET THE CITY GUARDIAN
The Christ is located at 1,300 meters above sea level, at the top of the so-called Las Noas Hill, which gets its name because of the noa, a type of cactus growing there. It is there where the almost 22-meter-high and 600-ton imposing figure stands, at whose slopes Torreon, The Pearl of the Lagoon extends beyond the horizon. This Christ is the third largest in Latin America.
ADMIRE THE VIEW FROM THE TOP
Challenge yourself and climb almost 600 steps to reach what has now become a popular religious touristic center. Your reward upon arrival will be the magnificent panoramic view of the city and a wonderful meal in its restaurant. If you want to enjoy only the panorama without tiring, it is also possible to get there by car.
The Christ Sanctuary has a religious tourist complex with replicas of the Holy Land, such as the Cave of Bethlehem, the Calvary, and the Holy Grave.
