MUSEUMS
In Tepoztlan you
can visit two interesting museums dedicated to the
exhibition and research of regional history, art and
culture.
Museo y Centro de Documentacion Historica de Tepoztlan ? Located on
the corner of Envila and No Reeleccion,
in the Convento de la Natividad. The
five showrooms in this museum offer
an exhibit of diverse aspects
of regional culture and history, with
themes that touch on the
economy, religion and everyday life
of the town?s
inhabitants. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.
Museo de Arte Prehispanico Carlos Pellicer ? Located
at 2 Pablo Gonzalez Street. Here you?ll
see a collection of pre-Hispanic
objects that were donated to
the town by Carlos
Pellicer, a famed artist from the state
of Tabasco. The pieces come from various Mesoamerican cultures, such as those of the
Olmecas, Mayans, Zapotecas,
Totonacas and other ethnic groups from
Mexico?s western region. Open Tuesday
through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.
