Mexico?s territory comprises 1?964,375 Km² of which 1 959 248 Km² represents the continental Mexico and 5 127 Km² represents its insular area.

Mexico shares borders with the United States of America, to the North and with Guatemala and Belize to the SouthEast.

·         The border between Mexico and the USA runs for 3,152 km from the Monument 258, north east from Tijuana, and then follows the Rio Bravo river to the Gulf of Mexico. The Mexican states bordering the USA are: Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

·         The border with Guatemala and Belize runs for 956 km and 193 km respectively (not considering the 85.266 km of maritime limit at Chetumal Bay). The southern east Mexican States are: Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche y Quintana Roo. 

Mexico is one the few countries in the world with large extensions of shoreline, 11.122 km on its continental part.
