THE 33 EDITION OF TIANGUIS TURISTICO CONCLUDES
The 33 tianguis
tourist made in the Center the International of Acapulco in Mexico, consolidated as a
Latin American Tourist platform and the seventh on its kind in the world, is an
instrument to impel the promotion and commercialization of Mexican destinies
products and tourist services.
The CEO of the Mexico Tourism Board,
Oscar Fitch said: "During 33 years the TianguisTurístico has fulfilled its main mission: To generate
businesses, ties in a colorful and festive
atmosphere, but of great formality, salesmen and buyers that this year settled
down more than 20 thousand businesses appointments, 21 thousands to be exact.
In this edition we had the presence of more than 500 expository companies, in
430 businesses suites, 11% more that in 2007, and we waited for more than one
thousand buyers of 29 countries. Everything is ready to put to us to work with
enthusiasm."
"Between the international
buyers, operators and wholesalers of China and Russia attended for the
first time, today important emitting markets, interested in the destinies and
products of our country. Data which indicates us that the TianguisTurístico has been a useful and effective instrument
for the commercialization of products, Mexican developments, services and
destinies ", indicated the holder of Sectur.
Corresponding to the thousand registries
of buyers, 60 percent are from international markets and 43 percent are from
national market.
The outstanding presence and
participation of the 31 Mexican states, which refers to the participation and
commercialization of all the tourist destinations of the Country was notably in
the three rooms of the event.
During the closing ceremony The
President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, assisted and
reiterated his commitment to continue promoting the tourist activities of the
country with concrete actions like the Renaissance of Huatulco,
the infrastructure program, taking advantage of these important forum to
emphasize that during 16 months of his Government, the tourist sector private
investment ascended to more than 5 thousand 500 million dollars. He repeated
that the Federal Government worries about the tourist security and is working
with matters such as cleaning, security and legal certainty, in order to bring
order and pacific coexistence in the tourist zones and with the visitors who
enter the country.
The Minister of Tourism Elizondo Torres, reiterated that during the first trimester
of 2008, the private tourist investment ascended to 2 thousand 96 million
dollars, which means, 39.2 percent more than the same period of the last year.
Emphasizing that 51 percent of the investment is of national origin, whereas
the 49 remaining corresponds to foreign capitals, mainly from Spain and the United States. In this period,
the states that registered the greatest amount of investment are Sonora, Sinaloa, Baja CaliforniaSur, Quintana Roo and Baja California.
The valuable participation of around 250
national and international journalists grants the event an
extended and important media coverage.
The objectives put on the table, once again,
exceeded the expectations in the tourist world-wide market, with competitive
characteristics in quality diversity and price, as well as the participation of
new operators and markets.
The Tourist Tianguis
finished its 33 edition with the presence of several ministers, Secretaries of
tourism and national and international speakers.
