AIR
CANADA VACATIONS, FIRST
CANADIAN TOUR OPERATOR TO ANNOUNCE THEY WOULD RESUME FLIGHT TO MEXICO
Montreal, May 28th,
2009
The Mexico Tourism Board
gratefully acknowledges the leadership demonstrated by Air
Canada Vacations for being the first Canadian tour operator
to announce on May 15, 2009 that it would resume its operations to Cancun.
Resuming operations on June 6, Air Canada Vacations will have non-stop flights to
Cancun from Toronto, Montreal
and Calgary.
"Our commitment to Mexico
has been unwavering," says Zeina Gedeon, President, Air
Canada Vacations. "Many of our customers were anxious to
return to Mexico and the
continued support by Canadians for the Mexico tourism industry will help
the affected regions recover economically."
This winter, Air
Canada Vacations will have non-stop flights to Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Cozumel and Ixtapa and offer a
wide selection of some of the best vacation resorts in Mexico.
"It is gratifying to be partnering
with an airline tour operator such as Air Canada Vacations in destinations
such as Ixtapa and Los Cabos. They are in line with our strategy to diversify
our offerings and help promote unique destinations which are less familiar to
the Canadian traveller," acknowledges Alfonso Sumano, Regional Director for
the Mexico Tourism Board in Canada.
