An exceptional
host for ethnic fashion
Eloy Alejandro, Etnofashion
2009 director, describes this out of the ordinary event as a meeting point for
the best stylists and designers in the country. They exhibited their talent
and creativity to the world. In his opinion, this get together will become a
platform where new styles, tendencies and collections will emerge on the
international market.

Creator Pineda Covalin
is this edition’s guest of honour. FabiolaCalvo, Lolo y Lola and Cristina Larumbe
accompanied him among others, in order to promote ethnic fashion for the

the future fashion market.

Beatriz
Rodriguez Casasnovas, Tourism secretary, believes that
Oaxacan culture is still largely unknown even
though it holds many undiscovered talents. She adds that for this occasion,
creator Pineda Covalin invited us to travel in his
company through Mexico to show its modern side
intertwined with its history, traditions, cultural diversity, and creativity.
For fashion lovers willing to change their wardrobe
The creators taking part in this event had the opportunity
to be discovered and offered their creations to ethnic boutiques, hotels,
airports, artists, fashion students, and patron of the arts. Furthermore, for
fashion lovers, renewing their wardrobe with collection clothes was easy

Oaxaca, chocolate state!
Not to forget: Oaxaca is considered as the world’s
number 1 destination for chocolate lovers. Few people know that chocolate was
partly created in this state.
Oaxaca, culture and beaches
Oaxaca is widely seen as one of the most
fascinating and unique destinations in Mexico. Its intricate mix of influences
was created by centuries of Spanish presence that never erased the strong and
proud indigenous pride of the local populations.
From the winter Carnival to the Guelaguetza, in July, lively public events punctuate the
year and beckon visitors to discover the peculiarity of Oaxacan
culture. The Guelaguetza is a large fair steeped in
native traditions, whose colourful and unique activities make it a must-see
for anyone planning to visit Mexico at that time of the year.
At the southern end of the state
of Oaxaca, along a 35 km stretch of the Pacific coast liesHuatulco, a true gem with
beaches of soft, white sand and emerald-green waters.
Though Huatulco
does not benefit from regular flights from Canada, it is easily accessible
through interior flights, which take about 60 min. Huatulco
is currently serviced by Mexicana, Click Mexicana, Continental, Interjet,
among others.
Come enjoy the crystalline water
and fine sand of these unforgettable beaches.
