Newlink is the Mexico Tourism Board’s New Agency for Public Relations in the United States

 

MEXICO TOURISM BOARD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES TRAVEL SHOW 

Tonalá Artisans, Tarahumara Dancers, Mariachis and Tequila

 

New York, February 2nd, 2009 — The Mexico Tourism Board will be an exhibitor at this year’s 2009 New York Times Travel Show on February 6th through the 8th. Mexico along with 14 of its best destinations and hotels will be showcasing the variety of tourism opportunities that can only be found in Mexico’s 2 million square kilometers of year-round 70 degree weather.

Rubén Beltrán Guerrero, Mexico’s Consul General to New York will join Mariana Pedrero, Director of the Mexico Tourism Board’s New York office for a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 7th at 10:30 am and open booth 533 to the New York Times Travel Show consumer population.

The New York Times Travel Show is one of the largest consumer and travel trade shows produced in the United States with a trade professional day on Friday February 6 from 2-7 pm and two consumer days: Saturday, February 7 form 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, February 8, from 10 am to 4 pm. Last year over 30,000 attendees visited the Expo Floor in the Jacob B. Javits Convention Center.

This year Mexico’s pavilion will be host to Daniel Aguilar, an award-winner artisan from the town of Tonalá, Jalisco. Aguilar has been working on traditional bruñido ceramic since he was 15 years old and will be showcasing his techniques throughout the day. Other members of the pavilion include representatives from Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Cozumel, Yucatan as well as Aeromexico and Mexicana Airlines and tour operators, Condor and Baja Expeditions. Representatives from Palace Resorts, Casa Dorada, Sandos and Excellence hotels will also be on hand and the Mexican members of the World Heritage Alliance.

Performances

  • Saturday at 11 am:

      Be sure to check out the South America stage, featuring the Mariachi Solido de                                

      Mexico, who will perform traditional dances from the state of Chihuahua.

  • Sunday at 1 pm:

           Queen’s Mexicans United Folkloric Ballet.

  • Saturday at noon & Sunday at 11:30 am

            Tequila tasting with Tequila 1921.

 

Admission to the stage area is free with your Travel Show ticket.
