Newlink is the Mexico Tourism Board’s New Agency for Public Relations in the United States

 

MEXICO TOURISM BOARDS JOINS THE SOCIETY OF AMERICAN TRAVEL WRITERS IN HOUSTON

 

Houston, TX, October 21st, 2008 – The Mexico Tourism Board is excited to join the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) at their annual convention in Houston, Texas. More than 400 of the most recognized travel writers and photographers will gather to share their experiences and discuss the direction that tourism journalism is taking.  The event is taking place between October 13th through  October 26th, 2008.

 

Being that Mexico is an important player in worldwide tourism and as one of the favorite destinations for this industry, the Mexico Tourism Board will play a key roll in this event by hosting the Closing Gala.

 

Martin Gonzalez, Director of Mexico Tourism Board in Houston, has invited the State of Jalisco to delight guests with superb Mexican food, music and tequila for the closing dinner of the convention at the Museum of Fine Arts on October 21st, 2008.

 

Here, guests will delight exquisite specialties from the state, and will learn that  Guadalajara, in Jalisco, has been selected to host the 2009 Society of American Travel Writers Convention. Guadalajara was chosen to host next year’s convention because of its status as a top Mexican destination. Representatives from Guadalajara, Jalisco will be on hand to present information about this beautiful city..

 

The event, will also launch the book “Sun, Stones and Shadows,” collection of twenty short Mexican stories, which is the first to be published specifically for the largest literature program of the U.S., The Big Read. This anthology presents a collection of twenty stories of extraordinary quality, written by the finest Mexican authors born during the first half of the twentieth century. Through these pages, readers will tour the real and the unreal, the faithfully rendered and the fantastic, as well as the tangible past of Mexican history. They will also travel between urban reflections on everyday life and intimate inventions that set Mexico apart from landscapes, other cultures, and other literatures.
