Washington, D.C., October 20TH, 2008. – The Mexico Tourism Board
hosted Association Day 2008, an event dedicated to the associations based in
the Washington, D.C. area on Thursday October 16th,
2008. During a special evening, association representatives and meeting
planners learned about the wide variety of possibilities and benefits that top
tier Mexican destinations offer for international meetings.
Association Day took place for the second time in Washington, D.C. in order
to reinforce the positioning of Mexico
as a major destination among key players in the meetings industry within the United States
market. The celebration was lead by Eduardo Chaillo, director of the Strategic
Business Unit for the Mexico Tourism Board for United
States and Canada.
“Mexico
has got what it takes to make a successful event. For the last ten years, we
have worked to become a major destination for international meetings. We have
brand new convention centers, world class hotels, state of the art facilities
and professional suppliers” said Chaillo. “Thanks to the diversity
and uniqueness of our country, no matter how large or small the event is, we
can offer a growing range of options always adapted to the characteristics of
the group.”
