MEXICO IN THE SKY AT THE 2008 ALBUQUERQUE
INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA
Houston, TX,
Sept. 26th, 2008 -- Mexico
will fly high into the sky this fall season for the first time ever as the
Mexico Tourism Board (MTB) participates in the 37th Annual
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the most photographed event on earth,
which will take place from October 4th through October 12th,
2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is the
largest annual event in all of North America,
and the largest hot air balloon show in the planet.The festival paints the clear blue sky of the
fall season with more than 700 colorful balloons from all over the world, which
are expected to attract more than 800,000 national as well as international
visitors and more than 800 media representatives from everywhere.
“This
is a great way to expose Mexico’s
brand to thousands of people and at the same time help build a positive
attitude towards Mexico and
its destinations through one of the most important festivals in the US,” says
Martin Gonzalez, Director of the MTB for Southern US & Colorado.
Mexico’s participation will
consist of a hot air balloon, with the MEXICO brand logo, which will
participate in the Mass Ascensions and the evening balloon glows.There will also be a booth where guests will
be able to receive information about the many attractions and activities that Mexico has to
offer such as family vacation, the great outdoors, its rich culture, beaches,
luxury travel and much more.The state
of Chihuahua
will also be present in the event, to promote their diverse tourism offers.
The Mexico Tourism Board
