– The delights of Mexican cuisine will come alive in San Antonio, when the Mexico Tourism Board participates in the“San Antonio New World Wine & Food
Festival” from November 10th
to November 15th 2009. The Mexico Tourism Board has invited
one of Mexico’s
many renowned chef, Vicente Etchegaray. Residents of
the area will have the opportunity to experience and enjoy Mexico’s delightful cuisine
with a variety of demonstrations,
conferences and wine tasting
Mexico is one of the most
important gastronomic mecca’s in Latin America and is home to some
of the world’s most unique and exquisite ingredients with dishes that are recognized all over the
world. From local ingredients
such as “epazote” to the popular “chile”, Mexico's culinary diversity is endless.
On November 13th, Chef Etchegaray will offer
demonstrations and prepare an exquisite menu at “The Best of Mexico” event being held at The Vault in San Antonio. This special event will give attendees the
opportunity to sample some of his best offerings on famous Mexican
delicacies.

Vicente Etchegaray is an acclaimed chef, who launched his career in Paris, France.After few years of intense study and practice
in the land of fine cuisine, he returned to his home of Mexico to
continue evolving his passion of mixing a variety of flavors and cultures and
produce a diverse and unique touch to original dishes. Since 1997, he runs the
immensely popular Mexico City restaurant Bakea,
which has been named the best restaurant in Mexico by Travel + Leisure
Magazine.With only
fifteen tables, an internationally award winning menu mixed with Basque, French
and Mexican influences, Bakea is unarguably one of the best—if not the
best—restaurants in the city.
