Popcorn, Beach, Action: Acapulco International Film Festival 2008

The 4th Annual Acapulco International Film Festival was held on May 4-10, 2008. The two Guerrero cities of Taxco and Chilpancingo co-hosted of this year’s festival.

Over 100 documentaries---long and short, national and international---were featured during the festival. And, as a special guest, South Africa presented a special sample of its film collection.

Additionally, the National Association of Entertainment and Culture Journalists met for the first time during the film festival and presented the Premio Guerrero de Prensa (the Press of Guerrero Award) to the best films of this festival.

Acapulco is no stranger to the Seventh Art, and accordingly, makes a worthy host for this international film festival; a festival was in the eyes of over 200 media representatives who visited from all over the country and around the world.
