China to be honored guest at 35th Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato

Celebrating Independence Day in San Miguel de Allende

It’s party time in Mexico with the Independence Day celebrations around the corner. So raise your tequila glass and rock out Mexican style to celebrate the holiday that commemorates Mexico’s Independence.

One of the best experiences to celebrate this Mexican holiday is to join the crowd in San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato. A very traditional celebration is the Entrada de Los Insurgentes, which means the “Entrance of the Revolutionaries.” This event commemorates the beginning of the fight for independence in San Miguel de Allende, by recreating the same happening that took place in 1810. The act replicates the entrance of the soldiers, riding their horses, into the Jardín, or Garden. This is held every 16th of September at 4:15 pm.

San Miguel de Allende, apart from being a city with pleasant weather, with numerous and fun activities, it is a place for discovering true traditional Mexico. The evening concludes with joyful folkloric dances and colorful fireworks.

Hacienda de las Flores is a great option to stay at and experience a historical atmosphere.
