China to be honored guest at 35th Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato

Thank God for Wine

Every year we all wait for the summer to come so that we can enjoy outdoor activities, especially if they take place during our summer vacation. Wine festivals are special during this season and even more if the celebration takes place with breathtaking sceneries such as those found in the valleys of the state of Baja California.

Enologists, wine experts and visitors from different countries will get together this summer at the Ensenada Food and Wine Festival (Fiestas de la Vendimia). Fifteen days of unique events, food and local product exhibitions, paella contests, wine and cheese tastings, sensorial workshops, jazz and classical music concerts, and winery tours will take place simultaneously in Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe from August 6th through the 23rd.

This year’s theme, “Baja California’s Sky,” will gather 26 wineries from the region who will participate in more than 50 different activities. Close to 3,000 visitors are expected to attend these fiestas that have been celebrated since 1990 and represent the ancient tradition of honoring the Greek god Dionysus, also known as Baco, god of agriculture, wine and fertility.
